Harsh Mariwala

Founder, ASCENT and Chairman, Marico Ltd.

Harsh Mariwala leads Marico Limited as its Chairman. He is also Chairman and Managing Director of Kaya Limited. Over the past three decades, Harsh has transformed traditional commodities driven business into a leading consumer products and services company in the Beauty and Wellness space. He was the President of FICCI in 2011. He has held the position of YPO Education, Membership and Chapter Chair for the Bombay Chapter and was a member of the International Forum Board of YPO International.

Sahil Barua

Managing Director and CEO, Delhivery

Sahil Barua is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Delhivery. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal and a post-graduate diploma in management from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. He has previously been associated with Bain & Company India Private Limited as Consultant.

Kanwaljit Singh

Founder and Managing Partner, Fireside Ventures

With a career spanning more than 3 decades in the consumer brand and investing ecosystem, Kanwaljit Singh brings deep expertise in venture investing, strategy and business development, brand building and marketing.

As the Founder and Managing Partner of Fireside Ventures, he has successfully raised three separate funds (AUM US$400Mn) with notable investors include L’Oreal France, Investment Corporation of Dubai; Unilever Ventures, SIDBI (managing Govt of India’s Fund of Fund for startups), HDFC Bank, Waterfield Fund of Funds, etc. Apart from defining the overall contours of the portfolio he mentors entrepreneurs to scale and champions Fireside’s thought leadership. Kanwaljit is on the board of several companies, and at Fireside plays a pivotal role in the growth of brands like Boat, Slurrp Farm, Vahdam Teas, and The Ayurveda Experience etc. Prior to establishing Fireside Ventures, Kanwaljit invested personal capital and provided mentorship support to consumer brands like Licious and Mama Earth (both became Unicorns recently), Paper Boat, Epigamia, Yoga bar, amongst others.

Prior to this, as the co-founder and Senior MD at Helion Ventures (AUM US$600Mn) from 2005 to 2015 he worked closely with business in the consumer and consumer technology space. Some of his notable investments were Qwikcilver, ID Fresh, Simplilearn and Lifecell etc. Prior to Helion, as the Director of The Carlyle Group, India (2001-2005) he led investments in technology ventures. Kanwaljit’s foundational years (1987-2000) were at Hindustan Unilever focussing on sales, marketing and product innovation, along with a 3- year stint at Intel as the General Manager – Marketing overlooking responsibilities in India and the SAARC Countries.

Kanwaljit holds an MBA in Marketing and Finance from the Faculty of Management Studies, New Delhi; and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Punjab University.

Rishabh Mariwala

Managing Partner, Sharrp Ventures and Director, Marico Ltd. and Kaya Ltd.

Mr Rishabh Mariwala, is a second-generation family business entrepreneur. He is a graduate from Zarb School of Business, Hofstra University, New York, USA. An. In 2010, he chose to become an entrepreneur where he could appreciate managing a business in its entirety. Along with his mother, he launched a new business line, “Soap Opera” catering to the masstige and luxury consumer segment. His passion for innovative product formulations and the deep consumer insight was instrumental in introducing the luxury range of skincare products called “PureSense” in 2016. While working on Puresense, Rishabh founded Sharrp Ventures – the Mariwala Family Office, and presently heads the same. He has also won the ET F40 under Forty in 2021.

Bhaskar Bhat

Director, Tata Sons Private Limited

Bhaskar Bhat began his career in 1978 as a Management Trainee at Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Company. After spending five years with Godrej, he joined Tata Watch Project. After that, he was associated with Titan Company Limited. He retired on 30th September 2019, after serving as Managing Director of the Company from April 2002 to September 2019.

Titan Company Limited, under Bhaskar’s leadership, enlarged its portfolio and extended its market to Eyewear, Accessories, Fragrances and Sarees. The market cap of Titan Company grew to 13 Billion USD in 2019 and is now the second largest in the Tata Group.

Bhaskar is the Chairperson of the Board of Governors of the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappali He is a Board Member of IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation.

Bhaskar graduated in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Madras and completed his PGDBM from IIM Ahmedabad. He has been conferred the Distinguished Alumnus Award at IIT Madras and IIM Ahmedabad.

Bhaskar is also a Director in Tata Sons Private Limited, Titan Company, Trent and CaratLane Trading Private Limited and Chairman of the Board of Rallis India and Tata SIA (Vistara). He is also the Independent Director in Bosch India Ltd and Kansai Nerolac Paints Limited.

Saugata Gupta

Managing Director and CEO, Marico Ltd.

Saugata Gupta serves as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Marico Limited. He joined Marico in 2004 as the Head of Marketing and was elevated to CEO of India Business in 2007 and in 2014 he took over as Managing Director of the company.

A dynamic leader, he is responsible for driving the company’s growth and strengthening its presence both nationally and internationally. He has helped transform Marico into a high performing business with a commitment to sustainable development and best in class governance.

Known for his performance-oriented approach, Saugata drives Marico to be a future-ready organization committed to consistent profitable and sustainable growth combined with societal value creation. Under his guidance, Marico today has expanded its presence across 25 countries spread across emerging markets of Asia and Africa. During his tenure, Marico’s market capitalisation crossed over USD 8 billion in 2021 and it recorded a turnover of over USD 1 billion in FY20-21.

During this period, Marico has been recognised across various forums for its commitment to sustainability and accountability in business operations. Marico ranked highest amongst FMCG companies in the Crisil ESG performance score – ESGuage 2021 and has been ranked amongst the Top 10 in corporate governance among all constituent companies of the S&P BSE 100 Index. Marico has also been featured in the ‘LEADERSHIP’ category on the IFC-BSE-IiAS Indian Corporate Governance Scorecard as assessed by IiAS in December 2020. Outside Marico, Saugata is on the board of Ashok Leyland as Independent Director and is a member of Audit Committee, Nomination and Remuneration Committee and ESG Committee. He is also associated with Delhivery as an Independent Director.

Saugata is an alumnus of IIM Bangalore and holds a chemical engineering degree from IIT Kharagpur.
